Comments:

The Flying Colors version of Mercedes Benz C111 is derived from the 1973 casting of the same name, which was derived from the 1972 version.




Base Variations: 1972 - 1973 - 1974 - 1976

Only the bases differ among the two versions. The 1974 version kept a diecast base which was changed to plastic for 1976




1976 Plastic Base version

The 1974 and 1976 Flying Colors versions still feature the opening gull wing doors and sport a complex tampo scheme.


Prep-Production Examples

The tampo design for the Flying Colors version underwent extensive tweaking before the final design was established.
