From the famed promotional sponsorship of Mongoose Vs. Snake, the original release of the Snake is a faithful replica of Don Prudhomme's Funny Car.
The car was supplied in track sets and blister packs, both including a sticker sheet.

Prototypes

Reproductions

In 1993 and 1994, Mattel reproduced 16 redline era castings, all made in China. They were sold in two lines: "25th Anniversary" and
"Vintage Series". Unfortunately for redline collectors, Mattel opted to print the original copyright date on the base of these
reproductions which has only caused confusion among the newer collectors and a source of great annoyance among seasoned collectors.

1993 Reproduction Snake Funny Car

The "Vintage" version of the Snake Funny Car has been released more than a dozen times in various series and
special editions but they are easily differentiated from the originals by the country of origin, China.
